Ambulance Wish Queensland is built on the belief that no one should face the end of life alone.
From volunteers and wish families to our governance and the Queensland Ambulance Service
Every wish we fulfil is made possible through the kindness, dedication and support of a compassionate community that comes together to create meaningful moments for Queenslanders and their loved ones.

Our Governance
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland (PCQ). PCQ operates under the guidance of an eleven-member board, composed of dedicated volunteers and individuals who are active members of the organisation.
Wish Families
Wish families are at the heart of everything we do. Their stories, memories and experiences remind us why meaningful final wishes matter.
Whether it is reconnecting with a special place, celebrating a milestone or spending precious time together, families help shape each wish into a deeply personal experience. We are honoured to walk alongside them during these important moments and to help create memories that can be cherished for years to come.

Volunteers
Our volunteers bring warmth, kindness and compassion to every stage of the wish journey. They support events, assist with community engagement, help coordinate activities and contribute countless hours to making wishes possible.
Their generosity strengthens our connection to communities across Queensland and ensures that every wish is delivered with care, respect and humanity.

Volunteer Spotlight
Making Every Moment Count. Honouring a Paramedic’s Dedication to Compassionate Care
Sue Neale ASM has spent her career serving the Queensland community as a paramedic, but her impact extends far beyond the commitment to the service. Recognised in the Australia Day Honours for her outstanding service, Sue is best known at Ambulance Wish Queensland for her passion as a volunteer; assisting Queenslanders to fulfill their heartfelt moments as they face the most challenging time of their lives. This recognition reflects decades of quiet achievement. Something Sue herself never expected to be acknowledged for.

Queensland Ambulance Service

Our volunteer lead and student paramedics from Queensland Ambulance Service demonstrate the compassion and dedication needed to help safely transport patients to the people, places and experiences that matter most. Their support helps transform final wishes into meaningful moments of connection, comfort and joy for patients and their loved ones.

Palliative Care Service Partners
Working alongside hospitals, palliative care services, aged care providers, hospices and community healthcare teams, Ambulance Wish Queensland collaborates to ensure wishes are delivered safely, respectfully and with the patient’s wellbeing at the centre of every experience. Together, we help create meaningful moments of comfort, connection and dignity for patients and their loved ones.
